Investigation into series of Tracey Emin forgeries

SCOTLAND Yard art squad detectives are investigating a forgery ring which specialised in works by Tracey Emin.

Detective Sergeant Vernon Rapley, who leads the Met's art and antiques unit, said an inquiry is under way. He said: "We have identified a number of fakes of her work and that is under investigation. There have been several arrests."

Two men aged 21 and 23 will answer police bail next month after they were arrested in Manchester in November.

Emin, 46, is an artist whose Unmade Bed was nominated in 1999 for the Turner Prize.
