Jagger's support for Fifa education scheme

Veteran rocker Mick Jagger is backing a charity scheme aimed at promoting education for underprivileged children.

The Rolling Stones front man will join the 1GOAL: Education for All campaign. The Fifa-backed scheme aims to boost public awareness that millions of children around the world have no access to education.

1GOAL brings together footballers, fans, charities, corporations and individuals to lobby for change. Jagger said: "I am honoured to support 1GOAL. I love football and to raise awareness that 72 million children are denied an education through this global sport is truly amazing.

"I want to urge you...to sign up to this campaign and help leave a legacy from this World Cup – to get every child into school."
