Jane Tomlinson’s old department plans fund walk in her memory

THE current radiographers at Leeds General Infirmary are lacing up their walking boots in memory of one of their predecessors – charity heroine Jane Tomlinson.

The department has decided to join thousands of others expected to take part in the inaugural Jane Tomlinson’s Walk For All Yorkshire Dales Walking Festival, which will take place around Settle this summer.

Jane worked at the hospital as a paediatric radiographer for a number of years and her fund-raising feats have inspired a group of more than 10 of its current staff to take part.

“She was so well-regarded in our department,” said specialist radiographer Paul Hutchinson, who has worked at the hospital since 2007.

“When we heard about the event we were delighted to show our appreciation for Jane by getting involved.”

The Walk For All Festival, which will take place on August 14 and is being backed by the Yorkshire Post as a media partner, features four routes, covering 26 miles, 14 miles and five miles, as well as a four-and-a-half-mile route for people in wheelchairs.
