Jane's widower, Mike Tomlinson, will today officially launch the countdown to the big day.

He said: "Jane and I hoped the establishment of the Leeds 10k would prove not only an amazing vehicle to continue the fundraising but a great atmospheric run.

"I can't quite believe that we're already looking at the fifth year of the run. Jane would have been so pleased with its success and that it gets better every year."

He praised the people of Yorkshire and beyond for their "overwhelming" support for the annual event.
