Jarvis spins Bierley towards safety target

East Bierley eased their relegation fears and gave the title race a new lease of life with a shock 41-run win over leaders Cleckheaton.

Left-arm spinner Luke Jarvis took 6-12 as the defending champions were bowled out for 112 in reply to East Bierley’s
153-9 – a score which owed much to an unbeaten 69 from makeshift opener Neil Gill. Spinner Andrew Deegan (4-28) was Cleckheaton’s best bowler.

East Bierley are 18 points above the relegation positions, while Cleckheaton’s lead has been cut to 22 points with four games left.
