Jerry Hall in £1.5m art clearout
Actress and model Jerry Hall, 54, poses with Head of Helen Gillespie IV by Frank Auerbach, a piece being auctioned from her private collection of artwork.
It is valued at 700,000, and at least 1.5m is expected to be made from the sale of 14 works at Sotheby's Contemporary Art Evening Auction in London on October 15 and 16.
She is also auctioning an Andy Warhol work given to her by the artist. Other pieces up for auction include one by Leeds-born Damien Hirst, a David Bailey photograph of Ronnie Kray and portraits of the star by Ed Ruscha and Francesco Clemente. Explaining her reasons for
the sale, she recently said: "At a certain age, you just want to get
rid of things."
