Jet landing problem shuts airport

HUNDREDS of holidaymakers were plunged into chaos after a private jet came off the runway at Doncaster's RobinHood Airport yesterday morning, forcing the airport to close for most of the day.

At about 10.20am a Citation 10 executive jet, which had flown into Doncaster from Luton, encountered difficulties after apparently landing normally and then taxiing off the runway.

As a result, all other flights were

delayed while efforts were made to move the aircraft.

Neither of the two crew members were hurt in the incident.
