Jim fixed mourner’s request

One mourner had a special reason for wanting to pay her respects – Sir Jimmy had once sorted for her to appear on his TV show.

Back in 1976, Lois Manning, of Roundhay, Leeds, then aged 20, had appeared on Jim’ll Fix It after writing in with her request. “I had a pillow fight with boxer Henry Cooper on a plank of wood over a swimming pool,” she said.

“It was good fun being on the show, we met Hot Chocolate.”

Over the years she said she had bumped into Sir Jimmy on a number of occasions around the city.

She said that she wanted to pay her respects to a “very lovely man.”
