how’s about owning one of the late Sir Jimmy Savile’s track suits or string vests?

The shiny track suits are among items in a big auction of Savile’s possessions that will be held in Leeds this summer.

The sale will include his trademark tracksuits, trainers and the zany 70s outfits he wore on Top of the Pops.

People will also be able to bid for his gold jewellery, including a Rolex watch encrusted with diamonds, and his favourite car, a £150,000 Rolls Royce Corniche and his restored yellow 1965 Isetta bubble car.

The extensive list of items from his five homes are now being collated and itemised ready for sale.

His homes, including flats in his home city of Leeds, and in Scarborough, the town where he wanted to be buried, are being sold separately.

It is thought to include everything from his pots and pans, mugs, ornaments, pictures right down to his exercise machines, 15 racing cycles and furniture including his white leather modular sofa from the 1970s and even his brightly

coloured string vests.

The sale will raise millions for Savile’s own charity, in keeping with the wishes stated in his will.

The event is due to be held at his namesake Savile’s Hall in Leeds, which he opened in 2007.

A spokesman for the venue said they were hoping to stage the auction in early June if it is ready in time.

Funds raised will be for the Jimmy Savile Charitable Trust, which was set up to “help poorly people in hospital beds”.
