Joint funeral for mother and daughter stabbed to death

THE JOINT funeral of a mother and daughter who were found fatally stabbed at their home in Sheffield was held at the city’s City Road Cemetery yesterday morning.

Tracy Donnelly, 42, and her daughter Louise, 23, were discovered dead at Tracy Donnelly’s home in Ironside Road, Hemsworth, on Tuesday, March 29. Both of them had received a number of stab wounds.

Rekawt Mahmood Salih, of Callow Mount in Gleadless Valley, Sheffield, has been charged with their murders and is currently in custody.

The 25-year-old was set to appear at Sheffield Crown Court via video link from prison earlier this month, but the court was told he was on a prison hospital wing.

Tracy Donnelly leaves two sons – Ashley, 18, and Daniel, four. Daniel is believed to have been inside the house when his mother and sister died. He was seen wandering outside the house, crying, on the morning that the two women’s bodies were found.
