Joy as twins mauled by fox both back home

The parents of twin girls mauled by a fox as they slept in their cots said today "it is incredible to have our beautiful girls back home".

Nine-month-old Isabella Koupparis left hospital yesterday, joining her sister Lola, who was discharged last Friday.

Their parents Nick and Pauline said: "As Isabella has just arrived home, we want to spend this wonderful day celebrating as a family.

"It is incredible to have our beautiful girls back home at last."

The twins were found crying and covered in blood after the

fox went into their bedroom in Hackney, east London, on June 5.

It is thought to have crept in through a door on the ground floor of the smart three-storey house, which was left open because of the hot weather, while the children's parents watched Britain's Got Talent on television.

Barts and the London NHS Trust said in a statement: "Isabella Koupparis was today discharged from the Royal London Children's Hospital to continue her recuperation at home following successful treatment."

Lola was treated at the same hospital.

Isabella also received treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London before returning to the Royal London.

Lola had facial injuries and some puncture marks on her arm, while Isabella suffered injuries to her arm, she said.

A family member said: "Both the girls are getting on well."
