Judge jails driver in cab sex asault

Justice Onwukaegwu was found guilty by a jury at Leeds Crown Court of a sexual assault on his victim and causing sexual activity without consent.

The jury heard after collecting two women in Wakefield, he put his hand on the thigh of his front-seat passenger and then up her skirt while making lewd comments and telling her she looked sexy.

When the other woman had got out and she was on her own he then grabbed her hand and put it on his exposed penis. He claimed she had consented to what happened.

Onwukaegwu, 34, recently of Thornham Street, Greenwich, London, appeared for sentence yesterday and was ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years.

Judge Geoffrey Marson QC told him the offences involved a serious breach of trust on a passenger at night. He said he had seen the impact on the victim who gave evidence at the trial.
