Kitten rescued after five days trapped in a wall

A tiny kitten is recovering after it was trapped for several days in the cavity wall of a home.

The cries of the ginger six-week-old, now named Macavity, were heard by the tenant of a flat in Liskeard, Cornwall.

The fire service were called and cut a hole in the wall and found the kitten inside. How he ended up inside the wall and survived for five days has baffled staff at the RSPCA.

For five days the tenant heard meowing coming from inside the walls of his flat and he contacted the RSPCA. When found, the kitten weighed just 150g and was treated for severe dehydration and weight loss. He has responded well to treatment and has put on a 520g in two days. If no one comes forward to claim Macavity he will be re-homed.
