There are about 11 people in the UK with Angelman Syndrome and about 4,000 people in the world. Albinism affect one in 60,000.
Consultant gastroenterologist David Campbell, who fitted Rio’s feeding tube, said: “Rio has a lot of problems but he is a lovely little boy who we always look forward to seeing. His condition is very rare – it makes Rio unique. Despite all his problems Rio is a happy little boy and can enjoy very basic pleasures like light and music which is wonderful to see.”
