Life for body-in-layby murder trio

Michael Taylor, 27, and brothers Joseph Cross, 27, and Anthony Cross, 31, killed 29-year-old Mohim Miah in St Albans, Hertfordshire, last year.

Mr Miah was discovered with fatal injuries in a layby at Ferrers Lane, near Nomansland, in the early evening on November 18.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and police officers believed he had been attacked somewhere in St Albans earlier that day.

Following a trial at St Albans Crown Court, Taylor and the Cross brothers, all of St Albans, were convicted of his murder and jailed for life.

Taylor was ordered to serve a minimum of 15 years in prison while Joseph Cross was told he must serve a minimum of 17 years and his brother Anthony was sentenced to a minimum of 19 years.

Detective Chief Inspector Sean O’Neil, of Hertfordshire Police, said: “These three men have continuously lied about their involvement in the murder of Mohim Miah. They blamed each other; however, the jury have considered the evidence and convicted all three of murder.”
