Well-known guests will recall their memories each day for the series to be screened later this year.

Lulu first found fame in the 1960s, famously scored a top 10 hit at the age of 15 with Shout in 1964 and representing the UK in Eurovision five years later. She teamed up with Take That for number one hit Relight My Fire in 1993.

Lulu says: "The Sixties were a time of such change, both for me personally and for society as a whole, and I feel honoured to be recognised as part of this very special era."

BBC1 daytime will also unveil a new drama The Indian Doctor, which tells the story of Dr Prem Patel, one of the thousands of doctors encouraged to move to the UK to begin new lives in the 1960s.
