M18 closes at night for resurfacing

The Highways Agency work on the one-mile section of the northbound and southbound carriageways will take place overnight until Friday June 25. Roadworks will take place on weekdays only between 9pm and 6am.

The scheme will involve overnight closures of both sides of the motorway, but only one carriageway will be closed at a time. During the closures, signed diversions will be in place through Doncaster and only "slight" delays are expected for drivers.

Highways Agency project manager Andrew Jennings said: "This work will replace the road surface and improve safety along this stretch of the M18.

"In order to minimise disruption to road users, the work will be done overnight on weekdays only, when traffic flows are lower. We ask that drivers take extra care when travelling along the diversion routes."
