Man arrested in London over gun horror at house

Police investigating a fatal shooting in Yorkshire have arrested a man in London.

The victim, named by police yesterday as 21-year-old Pawel Jarek Matras, died after being gunned down at a property on Blue Hill Crescent, in Wortley, Leeds, last Friday.

Detectives arrested a 22-year-old in London on Tuesday night on suspicion of Mr Matras’s murder.

The suspect has been brought back to West Yorkshire for questioning by the homicide and major enquiry team.

A 31-year-old man who suffered injuries to his lower body after being shot in the same incident has now been released from hospital after treatment.

Mr Matras, who was originally from Poland, was fatally wounded at about 5.30pm on Friday in what police called a “targeted and isolated attack”.
