Man jailed after flashing at girls from his bedroom window

A PAEDOPHILE has been jailed for four years after exposing himself to young girls and storing more than 14,000 indecent images of children on his computer.

Stephen Jackson, 51, flashed at young girls from a bedroom window at his home in Penistone, near Barnsley, once in July 2010 and again in March 2011.

Sheffield Crown Court heard that Jackson, of Sheffield Road, had finished a prison sentence imposed for possession of extreme porn only a few weeks before the July incident.

Jeremy Hill-Baker, prosecuting, told the court police found 14,350 indecent images of children on his computer, some at the worst level of indecency.

Jailing Jackson, Judge Michael Murphy said: “One of the girls said she was freaked out, depressed and disgusted by what she saw.”

The judge said he hoped a jail term would lead to treatment. “There must be something done about this type of behaviour before it escalates,” he said.

Jackson was given a new Sex Offenders Prevention Order and told to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register.
