Man slapped by stranger who tried to pick a fight near Bridlington park

Independent witnesses are being sought after a 19-year-old man was assaulted by a stranger in Bridlington.

The man was walking near Westgate Park with a friend when he was confronted by an unknown man sat with a woman close to the park entrance.

This man allegedly slapped the victim across the face and kept asking him and his friend for a fight.

The victim, who was not hurt, walked off his friend walked off, followed briefly by the offender.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw the incident, which took place at around 11am on Monday 13 June.

The suspect is described as white, aged in his mid 20s, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 9ins tall and of slim to average build. He had a thin black moustache and was wearing dark grey/black hooded top with the hood up, grey tracksuit bottoms and black Nike trainers.
