Marathon backers put up £12,000 prize fund

Organisers of The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon have revealed that an impressive £12,000 prize pot is up for grabs at this October’s inaugural event.

It means the new marathon – which is completely sold out – will offer the highest level of prize money anywhere in the UK, outside of London.

The male and female winners will receive £2,500 each with £1,250 for second prize. There will be cash prizes for all top five places and others include a bonus of £500 for both the top male and female British finishers.
