A 24-year-old, whose injuries were described as serious, was taken to hospital for surgery.

A 25-year-old was also taken to hospital but was later released and arrested along with the two others, aged 18 and 26.

They were being questioned yesterday on suspicion of drugs offences.

The gunman was still at large last night.

Detective Superintendent Scott Wood, of West Yorkshire Police’s homicide and major enquiry team, said: “It does appears from our early investigations this was an isolated and targeted attack.

“We believe a masked man entered the property and discharged a shotgun twice before making away. It is therefore imperative that we find this individual and anyone else involved.

“I would call on anyone who witnessed the incident or has seen any suspicious behaviour around this address to come forward.

“Neighbourhood policing team officers are patrolling the area, speaking to residents about any concerns they may have.”

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
