Mayor saves life ofcollapsed pensioner
Wootton Bassett mayor Mary Champion has saved the life of a pensioner.
The victim’s son David Read, who lives 50 miles away, found her phone number on a council website and begged her to check on his father, Stan, who was not answering his phone. Coun Champion, 60, drove to his father’s house and found him on the floor after a heart attack.
