Yorkshire heroes of flight Hull legend Johnson and Scarborough's Sir George Cayley are among those celebrated in Pioneers of Aviation at the museum in Elvington, near York.

Other famous names include author Nevil Shute and bouncing bomb inventor Barnes Wallis, who both worked on the R100 Airship at Howden, and Robert Blackburn, founder of Blackburn Aircraft (now British Aerospace) in Armley, Leeds.
