Men hunted after 'horrific' attack on motel worker

POLICE are trying to trace two suspects after a man was seriously assaulted in a motel car park in Pocklington.

The 53-year-old, who works at the Yorkway Motel, was attacked when he went outside to investigate after a younger man came in claiming he had run into his Mini Cooper in the car park.

The man then assaulted him with a weapon, leaving his skull severely fractured and with eye damage.

Police are now trying to trace the getaway car, believed to be a red Vauxhall Corsa with two men inside.

Officers had found another Corsa half a mile away and arrested two men but they have since been eliminated from inquiries.

The victim was taken to York District Hospital and later transferred to Hull Royal Infirmary where his condition is stable.

Police are looking for a man aged 19 to 25, with mousey hair and wearing a grey hoodie. The car, used in the incident last Thursday evening, is thought to have a darker-coloured bonnet.
