Cancer sufferers in East Yorkshire are to benefit from a major fundraising event involving talented young musicians at Beverley Minster.

Macmillan Cancer Support is staging the annual Carol Concert on Monday, December 13.

It will feature a variety of supporting acts, including a harpist and the gospel choir from Longcroft School, who have received rave reviews from previous concerts.

Eleanor Malcolmson, fundraising manager for Macmillan, urged people to come along and get in the festive spirit.

She said: "The concert is our annual event at the Minster, and previous years have been extremely successful and enjoyable for all who attended.

"This year the event is hoping to exceed previous years and raise an astounding 10,000 which will make a huge difference to the lives of people affected by cancer.

"It's a great way to spend an evening and the acts this year are sure to be fantastic! Please come along and help support Macmillan whilst enjoying the festivities."

The ticket-only event starts at 7pm. Tickets are 20 and 10. Call 01482 300690 or e-mail [email protected]
