Leading beauties from across Yorkshire battled through the snow to gather in the city hoping to be selected to take part in the Great Britain finals of Miss Universe 2010. Contestants were vying to be among 60 finalists in the Miss Universe GB 2010 grand final in Birmingham in May.

left. The winner will take part in the world finals of Miss Universe 2011.

Paula Abbandonato, director of Vibe Models which is leading the search, said: "We are looking for proud, confident, bright and ambitious women who are up for a roller coaster of experiences to step forward and prepare for a year like no other."
