More Britons prefer to travel alone

The number of Britons holidaying alone has doubled in the last two years, a survey today showed.

And many of those choosing to “fly solo” are either married or in a relationship, the poll by travel insurer LV= found.

As many as 13 per cent of Britons have gone on holiday on their own in the last 12 months, compared with as few as 6 per cent two years ago, the survey revealed.
