More Dales summer buses on roads

MORE visitors to the Dales will be able to leave their cars at home as extra buses take to the roads in the summer holidays.

Extra buses are to run from Skipton and Settle to the popular village of Malham which is often blighted by visitors' cars.

The National Trust Malham Tarn shuttle will run every Saturday, Sunday and August Bank Holiday Monday from July 24 to August 30.

The first bus starts from Skipton at 9.25am to Malham with a regular shuttle service during the day between Malham, Malham Tarn and Settle and a last return bus at 5.52pm from Malham to Skipton.

Buses will also regularly depart Settle bound for Malham throughout the day on the same dates.

The Dales Experience 898 bus will leave Skipton at 11am for Malham every Wednesday from July 28 to September 1 returning at 3.45pm.

These services complement the existing regular Saturday and Sunday DalesBus services and occasional weekday services between Skipton and Malham together with the Demand Responsive Services from Settle provided by Little Red Bus.

There will also be more buses from Bradford and the Aire Valley to the Dales.

The Dales and Bowland Community Interest Company is doubling its provision of direct summer weekday buses from Bradford, Manningham, Shipley, Saltaire, Bingley and Keighley to the Dales this summer.

Buses will run to Skipton and Malham every Wednesday from July 28 to September 1 and Bolton Abbey, Grassington and Kettlewell every Friday from July 30 to September 3.

These buses complement the regular DalesBus services from Bradford and Keighley which operate every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday together with the Northern Dalesman bus.
