Mother and daughter’s poignant run
SKIPTON woman Corinne Hill, right, will be taking part in the Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10k to celebrate her 50th birthday, along with her daughter Grace, left, who is celebrating her 21st.
Their birthdays are all the more poignant as when Corinne was pregnant with Grace she discovered she had breast cancer. Grace was induced at 36 weeks and two days later Corinne underwent surgery and then chemotherapy. “The fact that 21 years later I am still here to celebrate my 50th birthday is something very special,” said Corinne.
The Leeds 10k is taking place on July 8. There are also 10k runs in Hull (July 3) and York (August 5) as well as swimming and walking events. The Yorkshire Post is a media partner.
