The gang of four men forced entry yesterday lunchtime to the property in Parklands View, Aston, after claiming they had come to check the gas.

The men threatened the residents, a 42-year-old woman and her 23-year-old son and the house was searched.

They stole jewellery and a grey BMW. The 23-year-old man was punched, suffering a minor facial injury.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Sarah Robinson said: “The residents have been left incredibly distressed by this burglary and we’re working hard to identify those people responsible.

“One of the suspects is believed to have spoken with an Irish accent and all the men were wearing dark clothing.

“We’d like to hear from anyone who might have been in the Aston area at lunchtime yesterday that perhaps saw a group of men behaving suspiciously, or anyone that may have seen a grey BMW driving in the area around that time or shortly afterwards.”
