Motorcyclist, 36, in collision on moorland pass dies in hospital

A MOTORCYCLIST has died after a crash on the Woodhead Pass between South Yorkshire and Manchester.

The 36-year-old man’s grey Suzuki Bandit bike was in collision with a brown BMW 320D car near the Flouch roundabout at about 12.45pm last Wednesday.

He was taken to hospital but died yesterday morning, police said. The crash happened outside the Dog and Partridge pub, as the BMW was travelling towards Barnsley. It is thought that the bike was also travelling in the direction of Barnsley at the time of the collision.

Police say they want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have seen the bike on the A628 Woodhead Pass prior to the crash. Anyone with information are asked to ring South Yorkshire Police using the force’s 101 contact number.
