Motorcyclist seriously hurt in Skelmanthorpe collision

Traffic delays on A19 after two vehicle smash

The driver of a motorcycle suffered serious injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary following the collision which also involved a Ford Focus car.　

Although serious, the motorcyclist’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, police said.

The incident happened on Friday at around 7.20pm on Commercial Road at its junction with Chapel Close, close to the Co-op supermarket.

Anyone who saw the collision, or either vehicle immediately beforehand, is asked to contact PC 4892 Hepworth at West Yorkshire Police via 101, quoting log 1489 of January 13.
