West Yorkshire Police said they believed a group of men carried out the "targeted" attack.

Detective superintendent Steve Payne, leading the investigation with the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: "This was a targeted attack on the 19-year-old man.

"We believe he was attacked by a group of males who arrived at the scene in a vehicle."

The detective continued: "It is clear that this was not a random attack and we are now trying to establish the full circumstances that led to the death of this man."
