The dead woman's 37-year-old son who was seriously injured in the incident at Bradley Road remains in hospital. His injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

Police were called at 6.39pm on Friday to reports that a man and a woman had been attacked.

They found the man and woman suffering from stab wounds. Both were taken to a hospital in a serious condition and the woman later died of her injuries. Police say it was a targeted attack relating to a domestic related incident.

The scene in Bradley Road was taped off as police continued their enquiries.
