Murder hunt officers arrest 31-year-old

Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the death of a 23-year-old woman in Huddersfield.

The victim died in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary shortly after she was found badly injured in the early hours of yesterday.

Officers were called to a house in Baker Street, Oakes, at 12.50am after reports that a woman was seriously injured after a suspected domestic incident.

“On arrival, a 23-year-old woman was found at the address,” said a West Yorkshire Police spokesman

“She was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, where she died at around 1.40am.”

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was being questioned by detectives last night.

A post mortem examination to determine the cause of death was due to take place yesterday but details of the results were not available last night.
