Museum steps up to the plate to serve customers

THE era of Teddy boys, pipe smoking and atomic power was recalled yesterday at the launch of a new 1950s-inspired cafe.

Visitors can choose from treats including cola floats and knickerbocker glories in the cafe, in the courtyard of North Lincolnshire Museum.

Visitor services manager Emma Wood (pictured) said: “People said it was a fantastic place to visit, but it was shame there wasn’t a place to sit and have a coffee.” The museum’s next exhibition, Stories through Suitcases, recalling the stories of immigrant families to the area, opens on July 17. The Courtyard Café is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30am to 3.30pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm on Sundays.
