Museum turns to Quidditch to promote Potter’s parting

To mark the release of the final Harry Potter movie, trapeze artists performed on broomstick trapezes from the ceiling of the National Media Museum foyer yesterday.

The Bradford museum starts screening Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 on its giant Imax screen today, giving audiences a 3D experience for the final film of the series.

Managers expect a magical atmosphere there today as two witches soar through the air as if preparing to play Quidditch, the favourite game of all witches and wizards, to entertain cinemagoers after 4pm.

Museum film manager Kathryn Penny said: “Everyone at the museum is really excited to see the final Harry Potter movie on our giant Imax cinema screen which gives audience a bigger and better 3D experience, but we’re also a little sad that Harry Potter is coming to an end.

“Hopefully we can host a great send off and provide some magical entertainment and activities.”
