Music festival has evening added

AN ADDITIONAL evening of entertainment has been announced as part of the free Tramlines music festival in Sheffield.

Top acts at the festival, which will run at various venues throughout Sheffield from Friday, July 22 to Sunday, July 24, will include Ash, The Futureheads and Pixie Lott.

However, it has now been announced that, for the first time, a “Tramlines Eve” will be held on Thursday, July 21.

Highlights will include a gig from Guillemots at The Leadmill and local music at The Forum, The Harley and The Bowery.

James O’Hara, head booker at Tramlines, said: “When we started the festival it was to make sure that the city’s venues were given a shot in the arm to help keep them afloat over the summer.

“Tramlines has expanded year on year and it’s only right that the venues are at the heart of our expansion.

“Tramlines Eve gives people a flavour of what to expect over the whole festival weekend.

“All being well, we could even be looking to make Tramlines a four-day event in the future. And of course, it’s all free.”

Tramlines Eve will kick off at 6pm at The Common Room with “Real Ale Rocks.”
