Music gear stolen as lorry driver slept

Police are appealing for information after over £35,000 of specialised musical equipment was stolen from a lorry as the driver slept in the cab.

The incident occurred overnight between 11.30pm on Monday, April 9 and 8.30am the following day while the HGV was parked on Millennium Way in the Beeston area of Leeds.

All the items stolen were Allen and Heath branded musical production equipment.

This included two mixing desks valued at over £2,400 each and 10 pink-coloured expansion audio racks worth over £500 each.

The suspects are believed to have gained access through the rear off-side door of the vehicle but a number of cuts were also made to the curtain-sides of the trailer.

West Yorkshire Police officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone involved in the music production industry who may have been offered this equipment for sale.
