The victim of the shooting has not been named but was one of several people living at the address. It is not known how the gun came to be fired or who fired it.

One resident of the street said officers had previously been to the property and knocked on the door, but that no one was in. “It is shocking news,” she added. “It is really very sad.”

Part of the street was last night cordoned off by police and officers were stationed outside the door of the property.
