Names of Pc killers 'known'

The names of "cowardly criminals" wanted for deliberately mowing down a police officer are "almost common knowledge" in some parts of a city, his grief-stricken family said today.

Pc Mike Silcock, 30, was knocked down outside a pub in Heaton Mersey, Manchester, a year ago today. He was taken to hospital with a serious head injury but died a short time later.

A yellow BMW 3 Series coup was seen driving away from the scene after hitting him and was later found burnt out on a green at Heaton Moor Golf Club.
