New centre hope for victims of rape
Support After Rape and Sexual Violence Leeds (SARSVL) wants to extend its role to include face-to-face counselling, emotional support and providing practical information.
It also has long-term plans to offer services like advocacy and group work as well as maintaining its helpline, which was launched last month.

SARSVL board member Katie Russell said: "No one asks for or deserves sexual violence. SARSVL wants all women and girls to be free from the fear, and experience, of it.
"Our confidential helpline is run by trained volunteers. We currently rely entirely on donations and the goodwill of volunteers to get our service up and running and keep it going."
