New NHS and council centre to open

The Rawmarsh Customer Services Centre will open on Monday, April 30 in Barbers Avenue.

Members of the public will be able to access council services and pay bills such as council tax and housing rents. The centre will also house the new Rawmarsh Library.

In terms of NHS services, the centre will include the Rawmarsh Health Centre GP Practice

There will also be services such as physiotherapy, podiatry, midwifery and speech therapy.

Duncan Smales, head of capital and estates at NHS Rotherham, said: ‘We are very pleased to be opening Rawmarsh Customer Services Centre and being able to provide improved access to public services in the Rawmarsh area.

“We really hope that once it has opened, the building will become the hub of the community.”

Rachel O’Neil, customer access client officer at Rotherham Council, added: “We’ve already seen the benefits of our customer service centres being located along with other services so we’re pleased to be bringing this new facility to Rawmarsh.”
