Nuisance drivers are given warning

WARNING notices have been issued to dangerous drivers whose handbrake turns and speeding had been terrorising people in suburban streets and car parks.

Police officers handed out the warnings in the car park near Doncaster’s Vue cinema, on an estate in the Intake area of the town and on Sandall Beat Road.

The warnings are held on police systems for 12 months and if the drivers or vehicles are seen causing nuisance again the offenders’ vehicles will be seized.

“We have been carrying out extra patrols in this area, which has led to a fall in reports.

“We will continue to conduct these patrols and issue warning notices to the drivers, and where necessary seize the vehicles and put a stop to this kind of behaviour.”

Officers from conducted extra patrols in the area in vehicles, on foot and cycles to try to put a stop to the issue.

Owners of seized vehicles are forced to pay a penalty charge to recover their car.
