Officer shares policing success with Europe

A SOUTH Yorkshire police inspector has represented the force at a seminar hosted by the Valencia Police Force, attended by officers from across Europe.

Jason Booth, inspector in charge of the Sheffield south east safer neighbourhood team, was present to share best practices on local policing techniques between forces.

He was joined by Tracy Ford from the Sheffield Drug and Alcohol Coordination Team.

They both spoke about work carried out for the Woodhouse Regeneration Project and Designated Public Place Order, which are deemed to be having a positive impact on reducing anti social behaviour and alcohol related crime in the area.

Sheffield District Commander, Chief Superintendent David Hartley said: “I am extremely proud of what the team has achieved and the request to speak at such a prestigious international event is testament to that. Last year, across Sheffield, we had over 10,000 fewer ASB incidents recorded.”
