One bus that's write on time

Actor Garry Cooper, event organiser Zoe Plummer, author Harriet Vyner and Malton "ambassador" Sarah Lally-Marley launch the first ever Malton Literature Festival, in Malton Market Place in front of the Great Big Book Bus.

As a taster for the main event, which is taking place from October 22 to 24, the eye catching Coastliner vehicle will be calling at venues in Malton and Norton, offering inspiration to readers and writers

alike.

Local author Harriet Vyner worked on a number of well known creative projects, before writing her first book Groovy Bob, a biography of the influential 1960s gallery owner Robert Fraser.

She has penned an acclaimed novel, Among Ruins, and co–authored with Jools Holland his autobiography Bare Faced Lies and Boogie Woogie Boasts. During the festival, she will be talking about her books and

selected passages from them will be read by Garry Cooper, who has come from Rome, where he is filming The Zen Trilogy.

He also plays the leading role of Dr Porter in A New Beginning alongside Jean Claude van Damme.
