THE Duchess of Cambridge’s care and compassion towards others, like the Sheffield baby bank that she has now blessed with her presence, has typified the response of senior Royals to the Covid-19 crisis.

Their empathy and sympathy – whether it be their participation in online events or a select number of public engagements – continues to provide great pleasure, and reassurance, in uniquely unusual times.

And just as Duke of Cambridge exhibits the very best qualities of his late mother, the Duchess, too, is continuing a fine family tradition.

In a personal letter this week to mark the 150th anniversary of the British Red Cross, she recalled the past service of her great grandmother and grandmother before telling the charity: “You have all been doing an inspiring job supporting vulnerable people.” They’re also words that apply to the Duchess of Cambridge – even more so after, once again, capturing the hearts of this county.
