Kevin Sinfield’s marathon mission for Rob Burrow deserves support – The Yorkshire Post says

IF the Yorkshire Post had its way, rugby league hero Rob Burrow would be on the shortlist for BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

His resolve since being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease continues to transcend all sport. This is exemplified by the generosity of all those who have raised funds for the Leeds Rhinos legend and the Motor Neurone Disease Association, not least Burrow’s skipper Kevin Sinfield who is now in the midst of running seven marathons in seven days.

Theirs was a special sporting bond in a league of its own and Sinfield’s superhuman effort to go the extra mile for both Burrow, and all victims of this devastating and debilitating disease, is even more reason for his great friend to receive national recognition for his fearlessness on and off the rugby pitch.

With the initial £77,777 goal passed – Burrow wore the number seven shirt throughout his career – we hope people continue to give generously for a cause that will always be close to our hearts.
