Evidenced by Boris Johnson’s complete contempt for Mr Corbyn at PMQs yesterday over funding for flood defences, not only do Labour need a new leader who can articulate a clear and costed centre-left vision for the 2020s, as opposed to the ‘back to the future’ economics espoused at the last two elections, but the party requires someone of stature who can cut through with all sections of the electorate and hold Ministers to account. With respect, none of the triumvirate have, thus far, showed that they’re qualified to lead Labour back to the centre ground of politics where it has previously prospered, hence why all three candidates still have so much to prove.
